Is this not the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness,to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry,and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? When thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thin own flesh?

It is not all the fast that God accepts, there are some fast He accepts and there are some that He rejects. It is not all the fast that moves God to action. The purpose of fasting is to humble ourselves before God in order to move on some critical issues in our behalf and if it is not done properly, God will not accept that fast and our fast will just be a mere hunger strike.
What happens when we truly fast?
1. God moves in our behalf. That was classical example of what happened in the day of Jehoshaphat when Ammonites, Moabites and people of Seir came against him to battle. He proclaimed a fast and at the end God showed up and moved on their behalf by given them clean victory in battle they never fought. he was the one that fought for them.(2Chron.20:1-4,22-26)
2. God will show us the way to go. Life is made of choice and decisions,where to go, who to marry, the job to do,e.t.c. It may be a small decision or great decision.If we truly seek God in sincere fast, he will show us the way to go and empower us to make decisions according to His will. Isaiah30:20-21.
3.God gives us supernatural help. Help from God is superior to money. Divine assistance will provide for you what you cannot get by yourself.At God's divine help, god stairs up the heart of men to bless you with what you need the money for.
4. God removes and destroy every yoke. When we truly fast the kind that moves Him, He will destroy the yoke of devil, removes the burden of the wicked one and set us at complete liberty.
5. God delivers us from satanic and stubborn affliction. The affliction that devil puts into our lives to cause of pain is completely shattered .
6. God speeds up our progress in life in an amazing way. What we cannot do for ourselves He does in a way that surprises us by making us to make a progress we cannot make in by our concerted efforts.
7. God answers our prayers. Our prayers are answered when truly embark on fast that meets the condition of God.
